Happy St. George's Day
I know this because the Marshall Scholarship Commission sent me an e-card reminding me...
IN other news I'm at the airport awaiting my flight to Laguardia NY from where I will pick up a car and drive to CT. I'll be there for all of 30 hours before flying back to Atlanta. Wish me good travel karma.

Apartment Management
I think that it must be a thankless job to be an apartment manager. That said, I think sometimes that the job attracts the more oblivious of the human species. Recently we have recieved a series of messages informing us that we must remove vehicles from the premises during certain times and days. Now this is always going to be annoying, and is probably unavoidable. But what I take issue with is the total lack of notice which have preceded these announcements. For example, yesterday I got a note saying I had to have my car out of the garage during the hours of 8-5 next Monday-Wednesday. So basically I got 2 days notice. For a person like me, who is out of town quite frequently, this lack of notice is a huge issue. The message concluded with, "we will need to tow any car left in the garage during this time" What if someone is currently out of town and has their car in the garage? The only notification of this kind of thing was a piece of paper stuck in the door on Friday evening. It drives me nuts. I'm just glad that I should be able to accommodate the request, but if it had happened last weekend they (or I) would have been SOL.

Wedding
Well, it is all over now. Brian and I are married. The wedding came off well. I think everyone had fun, which was a major goal of mine. The weather cooperated and only rained during the rehearsal dinner. We managed to get 60+ people on and off of the MARTA successfully on our way to the rehearsal dinner. Brian and I were able to walk from the church back to the hotel for the reception. We completed our first dance without messing up, tripping or any other catastrophe Brian was sure would befall us. We cut the cake and drank champagne with twisted arms and managed not to get frosting or champagne down my dress or hair. I tossed the bouquet without hitting the ceiling and managing to get it relatively near the group of single women waiting eagerly. We spent the next day opening presents and recovering. Thanks to everyone for their great gifts and for trekking all the way to Atlanta. We are both still slugging through the thank you notes, and probably will be for some time! I cannot wait to see the pictures and will post a link when I get it.

Gas
Last week my work place moved from one location to another. We are now all in itty-bitty cubes. This is horrible, but I'll talk more about that later. For now I'm just reveling in how much less gas and time I spend on my commute. It cut my commute in half to just over 15 minutes. So this past weekend instead of needing to fill up my tank, as I normally had to do, I still have half a tank! Its the small things right?

Wasps
I'm not sure what it is about spring that brings out the wasps, but every year in Atlanta somehow someway the evil little buggers make their way into our apartment. It appears that they also plague apartment dwellers in Minnesota. About a week ago I found one dying on the windowsill in my bedroom. And then tonight I saw another one flying around the apartment -- big sucker. I called the apt. complex -- nothing the could do for me this evening. As I was contemplating attacking it with my vacuum cleaner, I decided instead to go ask my neighbors for bug spray. In the process I found a nice guy to come and swat the little sucker. I hope this is the last one. I've put a call in to the office, I'm going to ask them to spray around the windows.

7 days and couting
Yes, it has finally hit me this week that next week (a little over 7 days from now) I'm getting married. I'm excited about it. I cannot wait to see all of my friends and family that I haven't seen in years. I'm excited to be getting such a great guy, quirky sure, but great. I'm excited to throw (with my parent's money) what I consider to be a proper wedding celebration. I hope everyone has a great time. Mostly I hope it doesn't rain. If the weather is nice we've got one of the best locations and overall plans, if it rains things will be much more difficult. So clouds are fine, but please no rain! Or no rain between 3-6pm.
There seems to alternately be a lot to do and nothing to do.
So here's the itinerary: Monday/Tuesday work like normal. Wednesday: fly to ATL, get marriage license, pick up ring, possibly meet with the priest. Thursday: work on the service program, meet with friends/relatives, make-up trial, bachelorette party. Friday: nails with girls, rehearsal dinner, more socializing with family and friends. Saturday: wedding & reception. Sunday: more socializing, cleaning up and taking stock.
I'll keep updating as the week progresses.
