Fall
Well the rain did finally stop last Friday. I woke to a beautiful fall day last Saturday. I indulged in a 2 hour bike ride around lake Calhoun. Not nearly as spectacular as like of the Isles (just north of it) but still nice. I enjoyed some good people watching. One of my favorite memories was watching a man with a great dane walk past (dog must have been 4 feet high at the shoulders) he was very calm. In the opposite direction and at the same time came this little fuzz ball of a dog that must have been about 6" tall at the shoulder. He was a little puppy to and oh, so excited to be on the walk. When he got within sight of the great dane, his mother picked him up by the scruff of the neck and carried him past. The puppy did not seem to mind at all, but continued his caterpillar like walk once returned to the ground.
A group of us from work went out for drinks and appetizers this afternoon to celebrate winning a large contract. I was not in on the original proposal process, but am working on it now and was invited to come along. It was really nice. Then I headed back to work to make up for lost time and just got home. Not much else going on here.

Rain rain go away...
It is still raining here. I caught a rare glimpse of sunshine this afternoon when I walked by the outer offices, so I have proof that it did stop raining at some point this week.
Work is picking up. I've been doing some data entry and data analysis on a simulator study, which has been fun. I don't normally get to converse with others who are actually literate about the kinds of statistics necessary to analyze repeated measures studies. So it has been nice to find colleagues.
Other than that, not much planned for this weekend. If it stops raining I'll go for another bike ride around the lakes. If not, I'll have to go buy myself another book or three.
All people living in drought parched regions, please come take the rain away.

Sunshine
The sun is gong again and it has begun to rain (again). Yesterday we had the first sunshine in over 3 weeks. I kid you not. I'm not particularly looking forward to this winter. Cold I was prepared to handle but no sunshine for 4 months is going to be really tough. Good thing I'm fleeing the country over the holidays.
Also a fun little Minneapolis quirk I thought I'd pass along. Whereas Atlanta has Peachtree Streets and Waffle Houses, Minneapolis has Tar*gets. They are everywhere. I think there are 3 within 2 square miles of my apartment. So when someone was giving me directions using Targ*et as a way point, I had to laugh. They really aren't good way points since there are SO many of them.
